2025 Winter Basketball League
🏀 Fern Creek Optimist Basketball – Registration Now Open! 🏀
The league is open to boys and girls ages 3–18, with divisions determined by each player’s age as of December 1st, 2025. All divisions are Co-Ed, and final groupings will depend on the number of registered players.
Tentative Age Divisions:
4U Division: 4 years old & under
6U Division: 6 years old & under
8U Division: 8 years old & under
10U Division: 10 years old & under
14U Division: 14 years old & under
18U Division: 18 years old & under
Season Format:
4U & 6U: 8-game season (no tournament)
All other divisions: 8-game season plus a single-elimination tournament
Every player who registers will be placed on a team — no tryouts or cuts!
All registrations must be completed online.
🏀 Evaluations & Drafts
Date: Saturday, November 22nd, 2025
Location: Evangel Gym (behind Evangel at 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, KY 40299)
Who: All players ages 7–18
Evaluation Times:
8U Division: 10A
10U Division: 12P (noon)
14U Division: 2P
18U Division: 4P
Note: 4U & 6U Divisions do not have evaluations and will be placed directly on teams. These players will have a 20-minute practice before each game.
🏀 Practices & Games
Practices begin the week following evaluations at Evangel Gymnasium.
Each team will have one 1-hour practice per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday evenings).
Games start: Saturday, December 13th, 2025
Last regular-season game: February 7th, 2026
Tournaments: February 14–22, 2026
💰 Registration Fees
4U & 6U Divisions: $120 per player
All other divisions: $160 per player
Early Bird Discount: Save $15 if you register by October 31st, 2025!
Family Discount: Families with more than two siblings participating (same household) will receive a $25 discount per player for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.
